    Retirement

Ok Here goes. This is my take on retireing from the Army. I starting clearing and final out next Wednesday. I have come to the conclusion that retirement is like that hot chick you dated that gave great head but you knew you couldn't marry. You had to say goodbye even if you knew you'd regret it. She was fun and great to be around, there was something that you couldn't quite figure out what it was but you knew she wasn't the one. I am so happy that I am done and will get a check for the rest of my life but at the same time I want to stay, even though I know I can't do the things I used to do. It is not easy. This hit me when I was talking to a friend of mine that called me Mr. Jeffery not SFC Jeffery. The title, the prestige of having that title, the responsibility of having that title and the expectations of the title are all gone. I'm just a normal guy and have a normal life. Its wierd I never thought that not being called SFC would bother me but it does. Not just being called that but everything that came with it. I will miss the Army and I will miss all of the Soldiers that have worked for me over the years. I made it to where I am because of their work and belief that I would take care of them. I hope I lived up to their expectations. The American Soldier is what makes America great and I am proud to say that I had a small part in building a few of them and I hope that they all come home and can know what peace is. Thank you for letting me ramble and God Bless America. To all the soldiers that are still serving God Bless You and good luck.

It's hard to leave when something like that has impacted such a big part of your life, good luck in your travels.
