    Rented a C6 for a day!

So I'm TDY here in Vegas for six weeks and I rented a C6 for a day . It was a silver M6 coupe. OMG what a car! I loved it. Felt very solid and quite fast. I took it up to 150mph and it was a breeze to drive at that speed. Got in a race with an 03 Cobra vert; walked him pretty good. I think he was stock or close to it. The car handles like a dream. The exhaust should be a little louder IMO, and those F1 Supercar EMT tires suck ass. But overall I was very impressed and I'd buy one in a second if I could afford one. I wanted to cry when I had to give the keys back.

Badass. But, I don't think you'll have much luck getting reimbursment for that on your DA 1351-2.

Ditto on the request on how much per day?

Also was it a stick or did they only have Auto's?

Whats so bad about that? If I were old enough to rent a C6 racing wouldn't even be the minimum standard of abuse I would give it.

good luck if you have an accident in it while racing... I believe the rental insurance has disclaimers regarding racing, meaning they won't cover you if you are doing that... you might wind up the rest of your life paying damages...

It was $299 per day. After taxes and processing fee's it was $350. You get 100 free miles, then it's $0.49 per mile after that. I drove 180 miles, so I ended up paying just under $400. Totally worth it IMO. This was with the company Rent a Vette.

The only modifications they made to the car was they did the skip shift eliminator and they disabled the traction control switch so that the traction control and active handling cannot be turned off. Surprisingly, the car allows a fair amount of wheelspin still, but it was annoying to not be able to turn it off because it did intrude a few times. Active handling works well too.

I think they have a C5 vert that's an auto, but this one was an M6. They made me sign a paper that said I knew how to drive a stick and that if I grenaded the clutch I would have to pay for it.

I don't remember exactly what it stands for, but it's when we are sent to an area that's not our permanent station. We came to Vegas for six weeks of training, but my permanent station is in Germany.

They don't have insurance you can buy from the rental place, you have to show proof of your own insurance. I made sure my insurance would cover all expenses if I was in an accident before I rented it. I pushed the car yes, but no more than say 8/10ths. I never pushed the car hard around other traffic, with the exception of that one Cobra of course, but that race was only from about 60-100mph. I know I took a risk, but I tried to keep it to a minimum. Hell, the rental guy even told me stories about things he's done in the car himself and told me to take it off the strip and "streatch it's legs".

Ive had several high powered cars, and this one is the hardest to keep on the road with traction control turned off. sometimes it seems like its grabbing in second gear, and then suddenly its like "nah, fuck this" and tries to go into the curb or the ditch.

traction control has, literally, saved my ass a number of times. I leave it on 24/7. not to mention the tires cost 500 a piece.

my modded lightning was less squirrely.

I've driven the C6 and yeah it's a beast! I'd own one in a second if I could afford it... and I'd give my left nut for a C6 ZO6!!!

Sorry but the price of a C6Zo6 is both nuts!
