Here you go ...
SAN DIEGO - With a short swing, a half stare and an emphatic clap of his hands, Barry Bonds rounded the bases. After so many days and so many tries, he had finally caught Hammerin' Hank.
No. 755 was a strong shot for all the doubters, an opposite-field drive of 382 feet to left-center, moving Bonds within one swing of having baseball's pinnacle of power all to himself. It came on a 2-1, 91 mph fastball Saturday night.

This is the hardest thing I've had to do in my entire career," he said. "I had rashes on my head, I felt like I was getting sick at times."
"The hard part is over right now," Bonds said.

Good, now the media can stop reporting on that boring shit and get back to what's important: football.

Even though it means absolutely nothing, the preseason coaches poll gets more of a buzz from me than Bonds.

not to mention the interviews and specials about his life and how he rose from a poor kid in the ghetto to the greatest baseball player ever...or whatever they decide to write about him.

NEW YORK -- Brian Johnson said it's "hard to dispute" that former teammate Barry Bonds cheated by using performance-enhancing drugs.
Johnson, appearing Sunday on ESPN's "Outside the Lines," recounted what he told the staff of baseball steroids investigator George Mitchell. He said they wanted him to "paint the picture that I saw as a player."
Johnson, a catcher with Bonds' San Francisco Giants in 1997 and 1998, also was asked by ESPN about Bonds, who tied Hank Aaron's career home run record on Saturday night.
"You can make a fair argument that he may have been cheating," Johnson said. "Based on what has been documented, it's hard to dispute that argument."
Johnson played with six major league teams from 1994-01 and said he spoke with the Mitchell investigators about his knowledge of steroids use.
"It was kind of a cloak-and-dagger society. Guys that were taking knew of each other and talked about things among themselves," Johnson said. "What I saw was that guys who were taking would never admit it, would never allow anybody to see. But it was pretty obvious to all of us that they were taking. ... Some people sold their soul to the devil and other people didn't."
Johnson hopes the investigation does more than document users.
"We need to do more than just find out who did it, crucify them, sweep them aside, and move forward," he said. "We need to do more than that."

I could care less.
More than likely this 'record' will fall in 6-7 years anyways.

Not that it will actually happen....but A-Rod is going to at least come close.
He is at 500 now, and has 9-10 good years ahead of him yet. Low estimate of 30 dings a year puts him near 800 IF he makes it that long.
Don't really care though. Records that are broken by cheaters are worthless.
It is too bad Bonds has all this shit floating around him. Truely a GREAT baseball talent.

Bonds Breaks All-Time Home Run Record
SAN FRANCISCO - Barry Bonds of the San Francisco Giants set the all-time home run record by belting No. 756 in the 5th inning of last night's game against Washington Nationals pitcher Mike Bacsik.
"This record is not tainted at all. At all. Period," Bonds said.

Bud Selig is the ass hat in this, when Bonds tied the record in another clubs ballpark (San Diego) he just sat there as all the San Diego fans applauded him. He had to be told by another club owner who was sitting in front of his to "get up" to pay respect. All the fans where cheering and that is what the game is really about, the fans. Not some old fuk, Bud Selig with a fn chip on his shoulder with a hidden agenda that is as transparent as a plane of glass.
Go Mets !
