I looked like one of the antennas on the boat I serve on. In order to go top side you have to clear it with the bridge because the antennas would cook your internals. Rumors had it that in Russia a guy sat near one while on watch because he felt warm there. Hours later he was cooked. That's hear say but the danger of high wattage antennas is science.

This was my first duty station out of boot camp.

Yea they tell us the same thing in the army, and I truely believe its correct information since they have a panel that does the same thing and puts off the same waves as the antennas.
