rant #1,567,883
Today the bus driver missed our house and didn't let my son off. He's done this 4-5 times since the school year started. He got kinda shitty with my wife one time when he did it saying something to the effect that he has 3-4 kindergarteners that don't give him a heads up when to stop. Now I understand that he's probably put through hell on the bus, I know we drove our driver crazy when I was a kid but at the end of the day he's the one getting paid to make the stops. Make 'em. Hell, he was just here 8 hours prior picking my son up. Not to mention my son is 5....he barely even knows his way around anyhow. So this guy expects 5 year old kids to yell up to him and let him know when their house is coming up? I could see it maybe if he was older but damn, 5? Buy a map asshole.
So today I wanted to go out and set all of it straight but my wife wouldn't let me. She wanted to call the school and complain. Sure, that's probably the proper way to do it and then there will be tension with this guy from that point on. My plan was to go tell him that if he missed the stop again I was gonna kick his ass. Something like that a fella don't forget. I bet he would never miss it again and we'd both know exactly what ground we were standing on. My son thinks it's his fault and I'm wondering what this jackass says to him when he misses the stop. My son says he yells a lot but what bus driver don't. He's begging me to start picking him up from school so I guess for now that's what I'm going to do. The school is only about 10 minutes away and he's on the bus for an hour and a half after school which I never really liked anyhow. Oh well, end rant.

Meh, this is why I'm so glad that I can honestly say, except for field trips and soccer games, I've never EVER ridden on a school bus.

Hmm, yeah. I would be pissed too. It is his responsibility to know who goes where. Especially the little kids.
But, confronting him with threats would only bring on more problems. Although, I know it's hard not to!
Poor little guy... Well, he has experienced the bus. Now he's ready to get dropped off in Dad's cool car like we discussed his first day of school

well, in my experience you don't have to actually say the words " I'll kick your ass" to let them know that you're gonna kick their ass.
It's all good. I'm sure the guy has a lot going on. I'll pick up Zach and forget about all of it. I just don't understand how he keeps missing the damn house so much.

Look, regardless of what the "right" way to handle it is. The dude gets paid a salary to do 2 things. Pick up your kid and drop him off. If he is incapable of doing this, I wonder what else he has a tough time with. For him to be passing the buck on a 5 yr old would infuriate me. Yeah, you can pick your son up but it doesnt change the fact that the guy isnt doing his job and hes also getting away with it. Honestly, I'd confront the guy, like you said you dont have to directly threaten him to let him know you are gonna kick his ass.

I say keep an eye out for the bus, and the next time it misses the house...call the po po.
School bus driver kidnapped your kid. And it isn't is first attempt. Get your 5 yr old to say something along the lines of "yeah, he doesn't let me go home everyday" and you're good.

Yeah, I had to ride the bus for three years, I hated the fucking bus driver. Me and my friend lit off a strip of magnesium once and he flipped out insane, I thought he was going to punch me at first, grabbed me by the shirt and I snapped at him. He got in trouble because of it to. Then I got pissed because he stopped two blocks from my house to talk with someone, so I jumped out the emergency door in back. He started yelling and I said you're not the boss of me when I am off the bus and school is out. Long story short, I got myself kicked off the bus and got to drive to school from there on out.
