Quickest Cars of 2009 for under 30k
Was pretty surprised to see this. http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...30_000_feature
The subaru ran a 13.5. Not bad for a 25k car out of the box. Would make a decent winter car. One thing I couldn't figure out though is why there "sports" car the STI cost 10k more and is slower? Don't quite get that at all.Last edited by adam3566; 03-09-2009 at 10:38 PM.

My life is a- Ben Stiller movie.
ok, the G8 GT (not GXP) is just over 30k, has room for 4 comfortably and will probably put a mustang to shame. All those cars on there are pathetic and hardly sports cars. you wanna go fast, you have to pay to play.

Not really sports cars in there. Just stating that for 25k the subaru isn't that bad for running a 13.5. Would make a good winter DD and have a little fun. The rebates going on (don't know if they still are) for the G8 GT can be had for roughly 25-26k out the door. So yes the G8 would have to be my choice if it were on the list.

Oh, I know....it only looks bad on paper.
BUT, if their baseline version ran anywhere close to the mid-range version (the GT) it would be embarrassing.
What's funny is i'm looking at C5 corvettes right now. At the time even the non-Zs were the hottest thing around w/ 345HP. Now, that's a grocery getter.

and you believe the numbers that shitty magazine drivers run? I would put those fuckers in shame and possibly run a good 13.1-13.2 with an 09 GT.
heck I ran 13.4 with an 06 GT bone stock on a hot as hell day, I could easily knock off another .2 if I tried a little harder on a cooler day! Those guys needs to be fired and then shot in the knee caps.Last edited by Musclefan21; 03-10-2009 at 05:45 PM.

Just think they will all get slower as the new Clown in charge starts making his rules stick...

They won't get slower, you will just see more technology used instead of raw displacement. Twin turbo v6's, inline motors I see making a big diffference. Hell even the turbo 4 cyl will be an impact. They already are making a difference. Look at GM's Cobalt SS. 260hp stock and spend $600 more and your at 300/300 in a light ass car. I just don't think you will see large motors anymore. Especially with that dumb ass gas law they have to get by 2015 or something.
