Questions for PayPal Folks...
May be a repost...but I has flame suit:
How many here use PayPal to sell itmes as well as buy? I use PayPal to buy, but I have never sold anything over the internet before. I need to know how I can sell things using PayPal as I plan to clean out my basement this summer. I currently have a pair of racing seats I never had a chance to install due to work and the previous car being totalled. They are in the Parts for Sale section. I have a feeling I cannot sell them due to my lack of PayPal knowledge.
Also, if I sell things through PayPal, will I be able to put the money into my personal bank account?

Yes, you can "withdraw" the money into your personal banking account. You can do the transfer for free, which is what I always do. The transfer takes 3-4 business days. You can also request a paypal debit card and use your money that way or request a check which costs $1.50. I have never used either of the latter ways, but I know of people that have a paypal debit card and like it.
You can either send a "bill" to the person that owes you money, or you give them your email addy and they can paypal the money to your email account.

I don't believe so, depends on how you set it up initially though. What is your paypal addy and we can test it out some.

I sent you an invoice/bill. See if you got it. To do that, you click "request money".
I will cancel the request once you tell me you received it.Last edited by Y2KPewterSS; 05-23-2009 at 03:42 PM.

I got a PayPal Debit card. It is way better than having to wait 3-4 days for the money to go in to your bank. Go ahead and apply for it now, that way when you start selling your stuff you already have it and have access to the money when you get it.

My life is a- Ben Stiller movie.
here's the thing. if you plan on pulling in more than $500/month, then yes, you have to upgrade to a business member account. Then they ping you for 30ยข + 2.99% per transaction.

I got charged for transactions when I sold things. They were through forums not through ebay, and they were only like 100 bucks, never went over the 500 a month, but still was a transaction fee/percentage charged. Pissed me off.

Yeah, and keep track of that shit too. Man, I sold like seven things one month when I was tearing apart last years race quad and doing entire rebuild with new mods. I went to write a check and was like FUCK, how much is in there???

it takes a few days for it to move from paypal to your banking account. You have to be verified which you probably already are. The 3% is paypal passing along the credit card transaction fee then they tack on another .30 cents if you have the business account....kind of a rip off but better than the other options out there.
