Quakerstate oil thoughts?
Thinking about trying Quakerstate fully synthetic oil. I use mobil 1 now, but want to try something different. Quakerstate is on sale now. Any thoughts on it?

Lol not sure about the wings or the oil because I have never used it. But it can't be bad Ferrari recommends it. Anymore I'm not sure you can go wrong when using a full synthetic oil.

Pennzoil Platinum and QS both have better add packs than Mobil1. Less shearing and higher TBN retention. Go for it. PP uses a tad better base oil.....but nothing to keep a guy from running QS.....

As Sarge said it is still much better than the Mobil 1 you have been running. So I would also say go for it.

+1...until we all agree on something else I think this is the oil of choice for right now. We should make this a sticky to avoid all these best oil threads. I know oil changes but we'll just let Sarge monitor it and he can make the appropriate changes when needed. Also list the filters that do the job best.

My thoughts, there is def oil that is better then other oils but when using a synthetic you really can't go wrong.

Thanks, I wasn't looking for what is the best oil. Just if there was anything wrong with the QS oil.

i use mobil 1 10-30 and like it ok. But i read about amsoil and really thinking about that. Qs i dont like it i used to work at a lube center and it not my choice of oil. it likes to gum up alot it also has a wax base that they don't tell you about? that just my thoughts about it. Me personally stick with mobil one.

More of my .02 cents. I really like Mobil 1 ADVANCED Super SYN. Out of all the oils I have used, that oil helps my piston slap the best. Royal Purple, I have had no problems with, but can't say it helped anything. Redline, is shit, used it once and never again. Piston slap was crazy with it. I don't know shit when it comes to SARGE but them are my experiences. Thanks to SARGE I have a case of PP waiting to go in tomorrow, thanks to his insight and UAE (Spell?) test. Prolly stick with Pennzoil all the way since it is the cheapest of what I have run and money is money.
