pulled over for street racing
Like the title said I got pulled over for street racing. I was on a 3 lane road with 2 mustangs doing a couple of pulls and a undercover comes up from behind us and pulls me over as the 2 mustangs keep going. I had all my paperwork and drivers license so he cited me for street racing (10 points) and I have to attend traffic court within 5 days.
The citation did not note my speed or the posted speed limit, just says I was street racing, no fine or anything. Would it be worth my while to get a lawyer to help me knock the points down? I'm a 19 yr. old male with a Camaro

he was pulling all 3 of you over, youre the only one who stopped. every town has its story of the family who was killed, or lost someone in a horrible crash due to kids in high powered cars at high rates of speed. its not likely youre going to get much sympathy. you might plead with the judge that you are remorseful and have never done anything like this before, and have learned a lesson and will never do it again. but you will when challenged.

im almost certain that a cop doesnt have to cite any speeds you were going if you were driving like a maniac, theres tickets for racing, reckless, careless, you can get a ticket for burnouts, i think even excessive acceleration is a ticket. Anything that you can fuck up while doing and hurt someone a town will use to generate revenue

You will definetly need a lawyer. Just to be as safe and secure as possible because odds are against you.

I found that out a little late
No, they where 99-04 GT's
I realize I was breaking the law and should be prepared to face the consequences, guess I'm just bummed because I've never really had any trouble with the law until now. I suppose I will go talk to a lawyer though, 10 points seems a bit excessive to me and that's going to kill me with insurance plus whatever fine they give me (yes I know I shouldn't be racing if I can't afford to get caught)
This brings an end to my short lived racing on public roads career

yes get a lawyer, or at least talk to one to see how much they'll charge you to take the case.
I got a 16 point ticket reduced to only 4 and was able to keep my license. It cost me $2500 to do so though.

I just have to state this because it happens every single time someone posts a thread like this.........
People get all snotty about other people racing. Everyone on this board has raced at least one time on the street in their LIFE. Some may have stopped doing it, some may have only did it once, some may still do it all the time........ Yes we all know that it could kill someone, we all know its against the law, we all know its stupid, we all know alot of things but obviously when people post these threads they know they fucked up. Posting comments that don't help do one thing, don't help. Telling someone they are stupid or this or that for racing on the street is not going to change the way they drive. Not pointing fingers because it happens every time this type is posted but if I can change one mind........ then I have succeeded┌∩┐(◕_◕)┌∩┐

10 points here in OK is a suspended drivers license. You need a lawyer.

nope, I think its called baiting. You ever seen cops when the cops try to get a hooker and if she gets in the car they bust her? Kinda the same thing. It happened to a buddy of mine in Chattanooga(racing). It was a cop in an eclipse trying to get my buddy to run him in his Z28. My buddy ended up "getting on it" and the eclipse and an undercover pulled him over. They asked him why he was racing, he said he wasn't. They asked why he was speeding. He said he just felt like going fast lol. They let him off with a warning. Its always a risky situation.
