    Angry Problems w/my PC...

EVery time I try to run defrag it tells me it can't do it go run CHKDSK. I try to run CHKDSK & that gives me an error before it finishes.

I also get some weird ass memory error message every time I close IE.

I'm running XP. I haven't messed with anything. This crap just started out of the blue.

You can try to run it at boot time. Open the run box by clicking Start, Run then type chkdsk /f in the run box. This will open a dialog window asking if you want to run it at next boot. Type y and hit enter. Then reboot your PC. The chkdsk will scan for bad sectors during boot up. Do not cancel it and let it run. It may take awhile depending on how big and how much crap is on your drive.

Was the memory error a page file space error? I'm guessing that may be low too. You can also fix the IE error by running Fire Fox.

alt+ctrl+del and then google each thing oyu see and if there is something you don't need end program... shoudl help speed things up a bit... also run a virus scan... and make sure it is updates... sounds like a virus got in to a .dll file and moved it so you can defrag or scan...

This is an awesome utility. It is free for 30 days. Try it out. You can clean and defrag your registry also.

First go to the "Clean and Repair"...Run Tuneup Cleaner, then tuneup Disk Doctor, then Tuneup Registry Cleaner
Then go to "Optimize and Improve"...select Tuneup registry Defrag, then System optimizer.

Every time someone gives me a fudged up CPU, this is one of the first things I do to it...

defrag is basically organizeing your files so that your pc runs at optimum speed and doesn't have to search for it... great way to increase performance if you are on the internet or download stuff... even if you install something new...

Yeah...I get my spyware/adware software there(Adaware se personal), and all my tweaking utilities, but I leave virus protection up to a paid for legit program like McAfee...I go on every horrible site out there, and I have never had a virus....

avast is a good virus software. it's free too! i was running a legit copy of norton antivirus 07 but kept on finding virus's sneaking into my computer. i got avast and it cleaned everything up and tells me when a site is trying to sneak a virus in. also a good defrag program is diskeeper, bad part about that is it's a 30 day trial only. but it worked for the 30 days and it speed things up on my computer.

yeah...norton doesn't impress me much, thats why I am running McAfee security suite. The firewall, phishing filter, virus protection, scan, defrag, cpu clean. I heard that the AVAST was pretty good...
