    Previous Owner Ranters Inside

Like the title says, come in here to bitch about the previous owner of your car.

    Here's mine...

Everytime I try and do something with my car, I have to deal with the fuck ups of the guy I bought it from. The most recent is that he pounded the bottom timing sproket onto the crank too far. Now the keys are rocked back and it is jammed on there. So now my gear drive install is a bust and I wasted a weekend in the attempt. I've already had to deal with his attempts at wiring, upholstery, and quality park purchasing.

How the hell was I supposed to pull the timing cover to inspect little shit like the crank nose keys and go through the entire wiring harness, etc before I bought it? It's not exactly something you put on a used car checklist, so I doubt I qualify as a dumbass.

I feel your pain. The guy that had my car didn't know very much about cars.

That is why I don't buy a car that has all sorts of "mods" on it. I know if I install a whatever, I do it by the book and work on it till it is right, John J, Dude may just throw it on and hope for the best ....IMO

Yep, it's almost impossible to buy a 30+ year old car unmodded though

Yeah, it had it's problems, but for a good runner, 8500 was a steal. It's just little shit that bugs me. There's nothing wrong with the chain, I just wanted to put on a gear drive.

I have bought many older PONTIACs and most have had most "right" parts. Chevys seem to have more people do stuff to them , esp Camaros . If I had it and liked it enough to think I was going to keep it , start going through everything...

    LMMFAO...

Ask the CaveMan about dealing with the previous owner's fuck ups. Countless hours, on countless weekends with barked knuckles, high from gas fumes covered in grease, throwing tools out of the garage... Damn Buick.

I bought a B4C, no redneck wrenching can compare to cop abuse. They drilled holes in EVERYTHING for their gadgets, left the headliner sagging so low you couldn't see out the rearview mirror, spun it on a bridge and f'd up the entire exterior and the rims rims, jacked it up in every spot that you shouldn't jack it up by obviously by looking under the car, and took apart all of the interior to install and uninstall previously mentioned gadgets and managed to lose almost every clip/retainer/interior screw needed to hold it all together while they were at it.

No problem. I think I was still a bit pissed after discovering it, so no harm no foul.

I got f**ked by the previous owner of my truck, Douche bag had headers on it before I bought it that he had taken off and put the stock manifolds back on when I bought it. I got a set of headers for it and my shop went to install them and found out that manifold bolts were not all identical two of them were different sizes, well whoever put the larger bolts in had tapped the holes to deep and pierced the water jackets they were filled with JB weld. Couldn't be fixed, bought a re-cod. set of heads...

cars are hard enough the way the engineers thought up things, but throw in some real good redneck rigs in the mix, many hours wasted.
