My Nephew has been bothering me to run him in his newly aquired IROC Z.He insists he will shut me down.He is completely stock,A 1990 IROC Auto,57,000 original miles.This is a very well cared for car,in which I helped him buy,But come on ,I've owned a couple of the tune ports,they are strong but not that strong.I keep putting him off,but I Know, I will school him so We can get this settled!I am stock except cat backs and filter..that is it..2000 Z(LS1)Auto...+ a Whole hell of alot driving experience!!!I'm gonna make this happen this weekend!! P.S. I am going to print out all the responses,and give them to him,so let em fly!!!

He is a kid and simply doesn't know any better. Shut him down and take his money while you are at it. IROC's are a fine car to drive around but they are not even remotely close to even a stock LT1, let alone a stock LS1 in terms of performance. You wouldn't believe the looks on all the young guys when they take their car to the track for the first time and see 95% of the cars simply drive by them (except for some of the imports).

jus be careful with him, show him your power. i dont know how old he is but jus make sure its an open highway. a beginner driver might get overly aggressive. do a highway run

as far as his tpi goes, if its a 350 some afr heads, a cam and slp will help him out big time. not ls1 conquering but itll get him out of the 15s too lol

i know from expierience (i know i spelled that wrong). i used to have an 88 IROC with exhaust and that was it. they are rated at 205 hp, with decent torque. i took it to the track and cut a 2.0 60ft. but those things have no top end what so ever. and i think we all know who i gonna win here.

i was an iroc owner myself.
with minor mods i got it into the 14s with 97mph traps
it was a 350 tpi G92 option package.

Yes he is on at least a good path...I told him to do some research on the LS1 powered camaros..before he said he will beat my piece of crap Z...Tomorrow I will serve him his ass on a silver platter!!
