No looks like the cop was just doing his job. The guy wouldn't roll over if you don't comply face the consequences.

Well, I don't have any sound, so I'm not sure whats going on there.
However, I say yes. Theres no reason to just wail on the guys legs. I'm sorry, those first 2 dudes were big enough to just manhandle his ass, they didn't need him to comply. Resisting without violence does not deserve a beating.

No.
Cops don't get to decide punishment. Their word is NOT law. If they need to use force on somebody to subdue them, thats one thing. Inflicting pain on them because they aren't doing what you tell them to is something else entirely.
Ask an actual cop if that is legal or not.

That was pretty excessive. I know they one cop was saying give me your hands but they didnt seem to do much to actually attempt to handcuff him till the end. He was obviously resisting but the leg beating was unnecessary.

At the moment, I'm gonna say "excessive force".

I wouldnt sweat it. It will all blow over in a day or so since it was a black cop beating a black guy. Notice the white guy coming over to put a stop to that? WTF is that mouthy piece of shit jesse jackson/al sharpton for this????

It's hard to pass judgement because the video doesn't show the entire event. What led up to the arrest, was there resistance prior to the video, or was this guy walking down the street and the cops decided it was his day. Videos are great but a person/news has to show the whole thing.

I completely agree with this.....
BUT, This man was NOT putting up an aggressive full out fight. He might have not moved but those guys were more then big enough to just move him over into handcuff position. He was already on the fuckin ground. I think this was absolutely uncalled for. I think cops just love to use all their lil implements these days. THis should be reviewed, and the cop should face a suspension. This incident would get way more press had this cop been white. Its such blatant brutality, and Sharpton and company would have a field day with it if the cop was white. It wouldnt even make the news had the perp been white and the cop being black.

sound is of importance here as you can hear them repeatedly ask him to cooperate, and the annoying chickenhead hoodrat's in the background heckling the cops which probably egged them on even more.
I don't think he should have hit the guy as many times as he did... two or three whacks should have done it, but like it has been said before - no one knows what happened prior to the filming.
There could have already been a physical altercation, or the cop could have been on a power trip. Without more to this story, discussing this issue is pointless

The only reason this is on the news for brutality is because the guy is black.. He wouldn't listen to what the cops said, the cop beating him was black and they still complain. When I say "you people" I mean black people by the way, its always a racial issue when someone is with police brutality on the news and 90% of the time we never see the full event of what happened, just what the person recorded wanted to show to get his or her friend out of jail for not following a cops orders.

By the way the cops are acting i'm thinking there was some kind of hazmat threat...that would explain why they didn't want to touch him. If it was one on one i'd say the cop was justified....he was hitting non-vital areas for pain compliance. But that wasn't the case.

Yeah, that was a bit much. And your NEVER supposed to hit someone with a baton on a bone. Always meaty portion of the body... not a shin.
On a side note.. I love the woman that wouldn't shut the hell up, then the what sounded like younger girl telling her to shut the F up!! haha

I dont know, all his stupid ass had to do was to roll over, and even at the end he was still resisting them. So I think its his fault
