PLEASE HELP anywork work for paypal I was scammed!
Long story short, I sold something for a friend of mine to a guy in Canada, who had and still has a 0 feedback.
He was not happy with it and claimed to of had missing parts.
The parts he was "missing" so happened to be the particular parts it came with.
He wanted some of the money back then the whole thing, my friend isn't able to do that and he opened a dispute.
Now paypal wants me to return all the money.
It is obvious this guy was breaking my balls and paypal wants him to get away with this.
Is there anything I can do?
PLEASE I WILL DO ANYTHING to get that fucker back for all this trouble he is causing me.

road-trip
Honestly, I don't know what I would do. I've been told to always write on my bill of sales "for parts or repair only". I guess my boss had a run in with the court system over the phrase "sold: as-is" on his bill of sale and that doesn't fly in the court of law.
Do you have a link to the auction listing? I'd look it over and give you my two cents, tomorrow...

Not a whole lot you can do other than dispute it with Paypal. Something like this is probably going to take a bunch of your time. In the end, I do believe if you hold firm that 'He received it, no doubt about it', you'll win the stalemate.
That said, I don't know how Paypal works. I don't know if the person that fires the first salvo gets the upper hand or what. I would think it would have to be he has to prove you didn't send it, in which case it comes back around to that you have to prove you did. If neither party can prove that, then I don't know what Paypal will do.
I would assume that you sent it with some sort of tracking number. On the airway bill, it will have a weight. The weight is an indicator that you sent something, and not just a box of air. If he signed for that package, and you have proof of receipt, you win. If you sent it regular mail (which wouldnt be very smart, but that's something else altogether), you can't prove he received it. In which case they would probably side with him.
But I suppose the question to ask: Can Paypal force you to give the money back or can they automatically deduct it from your account? If so, close the account asap.
Also, as a business, it wouldn't be smart for Paypal to 'want him to get away with it'. They didn't get to where they are by being or acting in a nefarious manner. They'll stick to the facts, and that's it.Last edited by Tide; 04-01-2009 at 09:28 PM.

God this sucks.
He claims to of received it and but he says some of parts was missing which is BS.
Before even buying the modis he asked if it had European connectors and thats exactly what came "missing"
So now I am going to be out of the whole $3100?
I am pissed off.

You shouldnt put trust into paypal. They will side with the buyer no matter what, its a very easy way to scam someone and you fell for it. Get it through your head, paypal doesn't fucking care what you have to say. And if anyone on here works for paypal like the thread asks lol, im going to come and kick you in the balls also.

Your best bet since he paid you im guessing and wants the money back, is to change ur bank account or take it off paypal while you still can and also remove the credit cards. So even if they try to take money from you, they cant. Sooner or later you will be put on hold for this and if you don't do it now you cant later, then your screwed so don't say I didn't tell you.

Well the ad said it came with the European connectors and im 150% sure it was in there when we shipped it. He is claiming it wasn't there.
I talked to him and I guess we came to settle, we are either going to buy him or give him the money for just the connectors so we wouldn't have to refund.
Anyone a dealer or got a hook up with Snap on? Please PM me.

fact. The no lube Paypal ram is coming so get ready. The exact same thing happened to me so I emptied my Paypal account before they could get the money back. My account went negative when they repaid the buyer, so I thought, "fine, I just won't use Paypal again." After a very short time, a collection agency called so I paid up. I was super pissed, but it was not worth sacrificing my good credit score.

I had a guy in Canada claim he was missing a camshaft from a package, there were two in th box.... he sends pics and the boxs is sealed. Then tried to say the one he got was damaged. He filed with paypal, luckily my account was at 0 and they couldn't take any money. Had it been there, I would have been screwed. Not much you can do with them being in Canada, like paypal isn't bad enough.

Hey I have a related story but my stuff was not shipped to Canada (Montana Cabin post office addy)
I bought parts from this member:
hot93rod
http://www.ls1.com/forums/member.php?u=51639
In this thread:
http://www.ls1.com/forums/showthread.php?t=104415
He charged me for insured postage and the box was delivered damaged and empty.
We lodged an investigation with USPS but by now looks like nothing will come from it.
I want him to at least pay half which I think is fair as I got nothing and this should have been an insurance claim to me.
These things happen but do sellers actually charge more for insurance and don't get (on purpose) it to make more money? If so who should pay?
What is the LS1.com opinion to this potential resolution?
