Playstation 3

just saw that effective immediately the price of the PS3 is being reduced by $100 in N. America bringing the price to $499.

also they are going to be selling an 80 gig version of the console.

sweet...another drop in price around christmas and i may get one of these things yet.

personally i think it's a good time for a drop in price due to:

1.) kids having summer jobs and looking to spend their hard earned cash
2.) kids going away to college in the fall...only a month or two away at this point
3.) mommy and daddy not wanting to take that expensive cross country trip with the family so how about a new gaming system for the family instead

I had a PS3 and let me tell you. Its a nice thing to look at not to play. 360 FTW.

that surprises me as a lot of people have had serious issues with their 360's overheating and have said that they would never buy another one and would never suggest one to someone else and that they wished they had waited for the ps3.

cooling stand fixes that......and mircosoft extended the 360's warranty to 3 YEARS! and supposedly they will pay back customers that had to pay to get their 360's fixed. Time to go xbox for me, ps3 is waaaay too much for a console.

I have had my 360 since launch and haven't had a problem. The PS3 has features features features. 360 has those features AND games. Im sorry but the PS3 right now is not the console to own for gaming. Xbox 360 is the console to have. In time maybe the PS3 will become better. But until then its a 500 dollar paper weight. Put it towards an exhaust.

xbox>ps3 Im one of the ones with heating issuse that plan to fix myself. Xbox has the game but more important xbox has an oline service to play others online.

PS3 also has online gaming capability and it is free. The features on the PS3 are also better than the 360's, by far and homebrew is starting to pop up here and there, nothing good yet. The downfall to the PS3 is the game line up. I have a PS3 and a 360. If you want good games get a 360, if you want to wait till the end of this year for good games get a PS3. Right now the 360 is a better system, all i have on the PS3 is PRON videos.

I would rather have a Wii.

I have had all 3. Sold the PS3 and got a Wii. The Wii sucks to play alone, but is a blast for groups.

360 all the way. More thought was put into the development of the console. M$ has been VERY good about honoring the great warranty on the 360 should you have heating or any other problems.

the ps3 is ok, but the thing that gets it for me is the 360 is so much better to play online, ive got both, and i am going to sell my ps3. Most the gaming i do is online so it works out for me.

i have the PS3, and have no idea how to operate it to get all of its uses out of it, i mainly bought it for the blue ray disc feature

I have my ps3 in front of a a/c duct so no overheating issues for me. The games for the PS3 are fine for what I like playing. Now if your into all that fantasy crap then your screwed, but sports and racing are fine for me.

the PS3 is back-system compatible so it can play a vast majority of PS1 and PS2 games as well as its PS3 games. and yeah the limited selection does suck right now but as usual give it until about christmas time for a strong game lineup.

i dunno...i guess i've never been a big xbox guy

Dont get me wrong the fact that the PS3 is a Blu-Ray player and can upscale DVD's to 1080p is very impressive, and if you have a huge PS1 and PS2 Library then by all means go for it. But if you want to play new games online and have a blast its X360 all the way.

The xbox 360 is backwards compatible as well. I worked at future shop during christmas when the ps3 was released. We sold tons of ps3's and tons of xbox 360. We got tons of ps3's returned and very little 360's returned. People just don't like the fact that PS3's freeze and have shitty games. And the fact that the HD is internal if it corrupts replacing it requires you to send the system away or risk voiding your warrenty by taking it out.

i remember when the original PS was $399. my brother and i saved up and bought mortal kombat 3 and a PS when they came out for just under $500 hahaha we thought we were the coolest kids in the world

My lil brother got a PS3 I think within a week of them coming out. Im pretty sure he has only turned it on like 3 times. Theres just no good games for it. I like playing the SOCOM games and it is not coming out til around XMAS. So if I had to take a vote I would pick XBOX 360 just because of Gears of War.
