picked up an 06 Impala SS
we needed a new car since the fiance's took a shit. she took my G6 so that left me with the need for a new vehicle. she says the new car is more me...even if it is ridiculous.
got it washed then took it home...meguires ultimate compound then tech wax 2.0. i'm pretty happy with the results...the house reflected in the panel is about 200 feet away across the street.

Nice find, paint looks great. Let me know how you like it. I was thinking of picking myself up one for a DD

Car looks good, but it's about impossible to tell paint condition in daylight. Flourescent light always tells the horror, especially on a black car. Enjoy the ride, but beware the transmissions on the 5.3 SS cars, they're prone to breaking.

Yeah the paint isnt perfect. Theres a lot of smaller scratches and chips...but ive never been able to pull a shine like this before.
The trans looks pretty solid...fluid is bright with no burnt smell and it shifts great.
The car is a great cruiser...but it knows that its heavy. Its brakes confidently and well...but it isnt one for the corners. Like i say...she knows shes a fat girl in a slimmer girls body. You can definitely feel the extra weight of the 5.3 in the corners. With the DoD on the hwy it pulls about 28mpg...i was shocked. Ill probably get that tuned out though as it can cause oil starvation issues to four cylinders. Probably get the trans electronically tuned as well to get rid of some of the clutch slippage.1999 Z/28

Last I knew GM still offered the GMPP sway bars, trailing arms and strut braces which would fit that car. There are a lot of aftermarket springs for the wbody cars as well. You'd be really surprised at how well a wbody can handle with those simple and cheap bolt ons. Always has a sweet spot for those cars, I drove one back in 06 on a weekend cash deal to do a dealertrade., it was a really fun car to drive.

I used to have a 96 monte carlo with the 3.1l. Not much has changed on the frame or suspension over that 10 year period.
