Best bang for the buck (IMO) is the Insignia brand from their ebay outlet store. Refurbished units in practically brand new shape. I bought one a couple or so months ago ($85.00) and am impressed with how well it works plus it has built in wifi. Most of the bigger name brands say "wifi capable" and you have to buy a separate dongle to make it work. Dongle costs around $60 and it has to be of the same brand as your blu-ray unit.
Unless you're going high end...getting a top shelf blu-ray player for $300+....you can't beat the refurbished insignia deal. Cheapest LG or Samsung players that have internet or wifi capability start at $140...and quality wise, they're not like their expense big brothers.

Wow those seem pretty good, really like the netflix streaming. I hate using my xbox 360 for streaming netflix. Afraid 360 #5 will overheat and get the red ring of death. Would be extremely pissed if it overheated from just streaming but it would not surprise me. Damn you making me spend money

I wouldn't buy one from Wal-Mart. I have an LG player I got from Best Buy for $300 and then my PS3 plays them too.

What about a home media player? With an external hard drive, it'll play any kind of movie file. Priced pretty good too around $80. So, for less than $150, you can play anything.

also had a samsung and let me tell you what a POS that thing was. They never update their codecs therefore you can never play new movies. Got a PS3 and never had a problem with it , should have just bought it in the first place. Seriously the thing rocks.

I think Sony makes the best bluray player. I'm not sure what the model number of mine is, but I'm very happy with it. Bought it from best Buy.
