I'm looking into getting one and was wondering who has them (LS1 members) and which one(s) would you recommend?

Thanks in advance for any advice

I never use that crap, the US Governement can track you.

    Use a paper map.
    or use Mapquest/MaprsAreus/google etc.

If they want to watch me drive around in circles, more power to them, or if they are really concerned about who's TV's are broke.

If you have a cell phone the Government can track you.

I have a Garmin and love it. Jill tells me were to turn and what the name of the road is. Some of them just say turn right.

I have nothing to hide so it doesn't bother me. They have been tracking me since March 23rd, 1963. Nothing new there

The one I use now is in my pacifica,it came with it. The one I used to use can be found here:

    http://www.alpine-usa.com

and click on the "blackbird", the one in my pacifica is also made by alpine. The portable one seemed to work great. It also has a sd card slot so you can play music with it, and also a battery inside it so you can take it out of your car and walk on streets to find your destination.

i use google maps, here's the trick, and it's free...

    1) you learn to read a map
    2) you remember/memorize the main streets you will be traveling on
    3) remember/memorize the name of the place you are going
    4) look for and remember landmarks to help you identify and get bearings on where you are

**I have seen more people get lost trying to use a PNS/GPS devices than just simply looking at a freaking MAP**
