Black/Red/Black/Red- 98WS6/06MCSS/86GN/06H3
Performance question about the new shelby gt500 vs C6 Z06
Isn't the shelby cobra supposed to be about 475+ hp and the Z06 about 505hp, what I wanted to know was does the cobra responds to mods like the 03-04 cobra does (meaning pully, full exhaust and tune for big 50-100hp gains) and if so would that be enough to take the Z06 down, Im just wondering because I just seen that video of the new Z06 take down a modded 03 cobra.

I would venture to say that it won't be as fast in stock trim, but because of the SC it will have more power potential for little money. You know, kinda like the '03 Cobras. With $2000 those things can have what, 450 rwhp? Probably 550 rwhp with the same cheap mods on the new GT500.

I think that stock they will be closer to the LS2 C6. Probably a little faster, like mid to low 12's,
I'm sure there is a lot of easy mod potential there, but we'll see.

IMO after mods that you listed it will be a good race
however if there are going to be more shelbys with $30K markup it does not make sense to buy it because its price will be higher than the one of Z06

Silver- At least its paid for.
I saw a Shelby GT500 converible at the Columbus car show. It was not good looking. It had some gray plastic about 3 inches thick around the bottom of the car. The car was red. It was cheap looking. From the pics I have seen I thought it was going to look good. I hope the coupe looks a lot better. On the information they had there it said 475 horse power.

There is no way the cobra would hang with the new Z06.... The cobra Has Less hp & tq, plus that thing weighs a ton..... no comparison

Plus, lets not forget that simple bolt-ons would push the ZO6 well past 500 rwhp. I can't even imagine what a full bolt-on, heads/cam ZO6 would do.
