Paint Ballers: I Need Some Help!
My son's 9th birthday is coming up. I think he'd be in heaven if I bought him some paintball garb. Can anyone recommend a good set (that includes mask, gun, and a few other bells and whistles) that isn't much over $100?

Also, are there guns that are easier for children to hold and shoot?

wow, its a pretty dangerious gun there, it shoots the balls at 300ft per second, and they can break the skin even if you are layered up, i dont know if that is such a good idea, i have seen many accidents when i used to play and we were 15 and 16

not if you watch him, lol, i think if you want to get him something in a kit and a deacent gun, your going to have to spend 150-180 for the gun,mask,co2 tank, and hopper to hold the paint balls, and the $20 on the paintballs

thats not a bad price at all, thats what i had for my first starter gun, its a good set up and its pretty light weight, if your kid is into guns then i say go for it.

Hey Sassy, all 3 of my boys are into paintball, as well as airsoft. It just so happens that my wife got them started by coming home with a kits from walmart for $60. I believe the brand name is brass eagle, it looked good to me, all was included, except the CO2. If they really get into it, you can spend alot more.

I'll sell you my Spyder Shutter. (retail $129) a much better gun than the one you listed.
comes with gun, hopper, JT 360 thermal goggles (black) 2 CO2 tanks, 4 extra hoppers with guppies (to reload) and whatever else I have...
all for the low price of $150....I'm a good seller and used to be blu98Z on the old ls1 board.

i would say look for just about any spyder, even the cheaper models can be very easily upgraded into good guns if he ever decides he wants to get into the sport more.

I don't have any specific recommendations as it's been awhile since I bought new equipment, but one thing I can tell you is BRASS EAGLE GUNS ARE JUNK.

I would say go with the cheap one first to see how he likes playing paintball. If he begins to like it and you feel he's ready, go more expensive (it's true that you get what you pay for). My brother had a brass eagle and it shot ok and lasted til he got tired of it, but my old roommate was one of the best paintball players in the southeast and had about $2,000 dollars into a gun and it was amazing, it didn't clog, shot many balls per second, and had incredible accuracy. I let him shoot me once and it wasn't very pleasant to say the least. And I definately do not think that 9 years old is too young. As long as he wears a mask and someone is watching, there is no harm, unless he shoots the neighbors pets or something...which if it was a cat it would be quite funny
