PA inspection fail
I took my car in for inspection, they said it needed rear rotors/pads and they wanted alot to do it.
I told them I would do it myself and bring it back - so I did.
and they charged me just for that.
I thought if a vehichle fails, you dont pay the cost again - can they charge labor?

Typically you pay the first time and if it fails you have a period of time to make it compliant. Then you take it back to the same place and they inspect it again. IF it passes you don't pay a dime, if it fails you lose your monies and have to pay again when you get it fixed.

Here if you fail you have 30 days to fix it and come back. If you pass you only have to pay half the inspection cost since you already paid once but if you fail you have to pay the full amount again.

I live in PA and when you get an inspection, you pay for a Pass/Fail no questions asked. should cost around 20 -25 bucks.
How much did they charge you?

Texas, pay full price for Fail ($14.50), then you have 14 days to comply for free, after the 14 days... Repeat.

+1.but you should see some of the stuff out driving here! 80's buick regals that are jacked up so high they tower over z71 chevys just to fit the 26 inch rims that cost 3 times what the car is worth, driven by some brother that lives in government provided housing.
Still like it better without inspection, though!

In Iowa Amish are required by law to have those orange triangle slow moving vehicle sign on all buggies. Just because there were a couple very nasty truck vs buggie fatalities at night.

Pa also regulates the orange triangles, mom is from Reading, not far from Amish country.
