oreilly poll on torture.
5% want to stick to geneva conventions for questioning.
65% would approve of HARSH measures.
30% would approve of torture.
I would be in the 65%. However if I thought torture was effective, I'd be in the 30%

Torture is not effective. Never has been, never will be. People will tell you anything you want to hear if the pain will stop. Psychological methods are the best and that involves some harsh treatment. If the captive knows that you are not allowed to do aything to him and that you are legally forced to basically play patty-cake, he is going to be closed tighter than a drum.
