Opinions...ppl with law enforcement exp, esp.
OK so i got a ticket in may, yes its all legit, im not trying to say i wasnt, but it was for 50mph in a god damned 45, which seems to be what everyone was doing anyways, but is there any options to getting this not put on my record, b/c the insurance company called and said one more ticket and i go on high risk, and i cant afford that so anyone got any ideas? I have no problem paying the fine, its the insurance that will kick my ass

Ask the court to give you a diversion on your ticket. I don't know about Your Mom's (your location), but here in Kansas, if you get a ticket, plead guilty, you can apply for a diversion. Basically you enter an agreement with the court, saying that you plead guilty to speeding, and you will stay out of trouble with the law for so long (how many months the court wants you to), if you violate that, your agreement is null and void. If you follow through, the insurance will not even know you got a ticket.

Take it to court and try your luck. 5 mph is a fucking joke. Catch the judge on a good day and maybe he'll give u a break. However, since you have a past history of getting tickets, you might not get so lucky. All depends on how good of a mood the judge will be in on judgement day.

Traffic school is an option in many states, but they vary on the quals. Yeah.....5 mph is a joke and I wouldn't waste my time giving that tix. It's a toss up for the judge cuz of your history....pray you don't get dude.

Fight it and claim you have bigger tires on your car. That can easily throw your speedo off 5mph. YOu pay a defective equipment and no points.
Or fight it and the cop who gave it to you knows it's only 5 over probally won't show up to even contest it.

well I got my court date set, and was planning on repping myself anyways, but i think i might talk to one of the small town lawyers too and see what he thinks, but I'd take a diversion or traffic school anyday, but i dont think we have traffic school in SD
