Im gunna take out a loan to get my tranny fixed. I could have the money in less than a month but i kinda want to do it to help my credit, plus i dont wanna wait a month. If i have $500 or more left over should i just put it towards the loan or get the N2o kit, or paint, or something like that. What to do, what to do???

It also depends on how quick you can pay the loan off anyway... Sometimes you need to pay a loan out to set up a good history ...

I could pay it off pretty quick depending on the interest rate. Maybe take me 2 months or so for a $2k loan

Just make the all the payments on time and don't pay it off any fast unless you need a bigger loan. Having regular payments paid on time over time builds good credit. Also if you have a cell phone, internet service or what ever in your name and making payments for that will help your credit get built up. I hate being in debt and like to pay things off fast, but when you need to build your credit rating it is better to have a few things out there. Just make sure you don't go over your head. It's really easy to do!

Never/Ever use any credit you cannot pay off in 30 days. Never.
That is how you build credit. Those credit card companies will be sending you platinum cards w/$100K limits. "Building" credit is a myth...your one of the masses....dont use it...they give you all the credit you want...use it...play the credit game....Use a card...pay it off 100% in 30 days....

If you plan on keeping that car for at least 60k more miles then you might as well go with upgraded tranny parts and a new clutch. Pay the loan for a couple months and then pay off the balance in cash. The banks dont like for people to pay off stuff right away cus thats how they make there money. I dont think age has much to do with credit. Its more like how long you have established credit, how long you have been at your job, and how much money you make. I got 2 30k cars and a 146k mortgage when i was 20yrs old.
