Just heard on ESPN they gave Romo a steroidal epidural. Are they really entertaining the idea of playing him? wow.

Merry Christmas!
I agree. He should not play. Take the time to heal. Let Manning be an inspiration here. If they let him play, dumbest call ever... He'll be a major target.

same shot I get.....not that bad and normally when I get my shot I'm good as new for 2 months. I bet he plays. It's not like he can "heal" from it....he'll have it the rest of his life or until he has back surgery.

My husband use to get those shots too. Ended up having to have the surgery. Now he's got titanium plate in his back holding 3 disks together. He's not a quarterback though

No joke...it's one thing to "play through" this kind of injury in life. Quite another to do it in a virtual war-zone as football players do. Romo should be out of commission for the season, no questions asked. There's no grey area here...a herniated disc can leave spinal nerves exposed to bone...flex the spine the wrong way, and he will need wheels to get around for the rest of his life. It's really idiotic on the part of Jerry Jones and his crew that this idea is even being entertained...and for nothing...even with Romo playing in full health, it's unlikely that they would beat Philly...AND EVEN IF THEY DID...who could they possibly beat in the playoffs? No one.

I really hope the Cowboys use their better judgment on this Romo issue. The threat of paralysis is very real with an injury like that, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Come on guys, common sense...
Hope everyone had a great Christmas.

Despite the realization that I have no confidence whatsoever in Dallas management team, I still don't really believe that it's possible that they are going to allow Romo to go out on that field on sunday. I just don't believe that rational "professionals" could be that stupid. Most major news outlets seem to be in agreement...they are completely disregarding Jones and Garrett's statements about "day-by-day status" and "not ruling him out" and analyzing the game with Orton under center. It's really only NFL.com that is entertaining this lunacy.
All that said, if Romo takes the field on sunday at game time, my jaw will be on the floor and i'll be praying that he can find his way to another team next season (assuming he can still walk when it's all over).

I have to get one once a year for a back issue that I literally refuse to have surgery on "car wreck when I was 17"...the shot works great for like 6-8months...3-4months out of the year my back hurts. They should not be playing him...he's going to get hurt and its going to end his career.

How funny would it be if they made it to the SB with the backup?

I'm sure it took an executive NFL decision to keep JJ from playing him but glad to see that someone used their better judgment.
