Oh yeah. Said Nova sounded like it had a Chevy 250. Anyone who knows this motor knows that cherry bombs are a bad plan.

I did and still do love the old novas. I like the early 70's mostly but I've always been a big fan of novas. One of these days I'm gonna buy one and restore it. Good looking car with the right rims on it and they had a pretty good looking stance to them. I've just always been a fan of them.

We have a 71 Nova here in shop getting restored. Body looked decent til the techs here started tear down. WOW there is rot EVERYWHERE!!! Basically when all is said and done $10k later it will be a sweet ass car with a nice coat of gloss black on her.

That $10k is just body and paint for the resto. He got a pretty bad ass 454 for it waiting til she is rot free

I'll get pics of it when it's all done and post them up for you Nova lovers

I've had a 66 Chevy II, a 67 Nova, a 68 Chevy II Nova and a 72 Nova. True fans of the breed will know the difference between a Chevy II and a Nova. And yes, there is a difference (at least from 62 to 67 there was).

a guy I used to work with had a 65 that was by far the best sleeper car I've ever seen. It looked like grandma's car from a distance. Once you got close you could start to see the things that made you believe it wasn't grandma's car. It was a 10 second car and in mint condition. He traded it for a harley.

Nothing against Nova's, but I like the Skylarks better.

True, but Buick used Olds motors a lot.

I knew they shared across platforms but I wasn't aware the 350 rocket ever came in a buick. I might be wrong but I've never seen it.

It was GM using the "corporate" (read Chevy) engine in other than Chevy cars that started all the ruckus back in the 70's. Seems a guy bought a Olds Omega (X-body clone) expecting to get a "Rocket 350" in it but when delivered it had a Chevy 350. He sued and won which led to GM advertising the use of the "Corporate V8" vs a particular brand.
