not an F-body but a cool project I guess
Found 2 cars, 1 engine donor the other for it's body, I am a V8 man but I always wanted an SVO mustang, so I thought I would build my own ...but in coupe form. I am shooting for around 300 hp , I guess it is obtainable?
the donor car.
the donor cars engine
As for the 2.3 turbo, I tuned the stock 87 k mile engine up, worked on the air box and made an adjustable boost control, out of a brass needle valve, @ 18lbs of boost,it killed the a4ld trans, so upon looking for a replacement, I found a 93 coupe, so I figured it would be as easy to put the engine in it 'as to replace the trans. well in hot rodders terms a little extra work is worth the loss in mass ..
Oh... here is the 1 of the first few mods to the 2.3 itself, a bigger turbo, a front mount Volvo inter cooler a stinger header 3" down pipe and an adjustable FPR
Now for the coupe

Phantom Black Metallic- 2004 GTO M6
Hmmm...an SVO notch. I'll be watching. I almost had an 87 TurboCoupe back in high school. Was donated to my high school. Needed a turbo and the owner didn't wanna put the money into it even though the car was straight and had like 78k on the odometer.

300 HP shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Is this going to be a daily driver? Do you have e85 around there? If you went ethanol you could really crank up the boost. Or have two tunes, and ethanol high then a gas low boost tune. Or maybe meth injection. Was the stang a four cylinder to begin with?

I gave $500.00 for the bird, 100 for a new fuel pump, around $95.00 for tune up parts on the t bird, $8.00 for the parts to build the adjustable boost valve,
$15.00 on the E85, and 45 min to kill second gear in the bird.
As for the 93 coupe it was free...well sort of the guy who had it ,had towed it in in 2006 and storage consumed it and with out a title it was no good, so he was going to crush it, so I got the car from him,and in turn I have to give him what is left of the t bird after the conversion, so he can crush it.
I solved the title problem by getting a bonded title so the car is now regestered again. all for $150.00
I also gave $200.00 for the new bigger turbo
So I have around $1000.00 invested so far.

I was gonna turbo my 2.3 Ranger a few years before I sold it. There was a guy parting out a Turbocoupe, he only wanted 350 for the motor/wiring/whatever I wanted to do the swap, as long as he got the car back for the extra pieces and scrap he was happy. However, I never pulled the trigger. Somewhere I have videos of a different 2.3T ranger layin' some serious rubber, i'm quite sure it was around 298hp with a Holset turbo off a diesel truck.
