No Love for the Third Gen?

Why does the third generation F-body get ragged on? I think it's an amazing looking car, does the performance suck? Personally, I think the 2nd generation F-body looks like ass.

I personally love the 3rd gen... I've had 4 of them... still have 3 of those.. LOL. YEah, performancewise.. the early 3rd gens SUCKED.. but the last couple of years they started getting better... mostly they are looked upon as trailor trash cars... but I'm still proud to own them...

not my cup of tea. to be honest i don't even like 1st or 2nd gen. I have only liked the 4th gen.

if i were to go old school... i would say the 1st gen Camaro is football field lenghts ahead of the T/A.

i just don't like 80's designs. don't like 5.0's. Don't like C3s or C4s.

I rag on them usually just to piss the owners off.

I actually like the 3rd gens. Probably the only body style that I prefer the camaro over the firebird on. The IROC's were just sharp looking.

I also am a huge fan of 2nd gens too. I owned a 79 T/A and always wanted a camaro with the tear drop in the hood. Bad ass looking cars.

my first car was a 92 camaro z28 25th anniversary edition... it was beautiful, fully restored with the factory red painted wheels. I wish I still had it.... my parents made me sell it because it was "too fast" then they tossed me in a supercharged camry and now I have an lt1. wow how smart are they?

Are you comparing their performance to cars made during the same years?

Or comparing them to different generations, the earlier which had less strict regulations and the latter having better technology?

Hmm I think you were right, 5.0s were 15 sec cars right?
Either way I would take an LX stang if i was living in the 80s.

The Fastest was the LX 5.0

88-90ish. They could do about 14.5 1/4 mile.

The only reason that was the weight. The Cobra and GT's of those years were cows.

The Iroc was nice. Probably a mid 14 sec too. Doubt it was faster. I would guess stock for stock it would be a drivers race.
