New Years party tools! Ice Luge and Waterfall
So my buddy and I are throwing a huge New Years bash and Im in charge of making the ice luge and Margarita waterfall. Pics coming very soon.
Anyone else making party stuff?
Ice Luge:
So far I have a giant rubbermaid type container that Im going to pack with snow to make the mold of the luges. Then Im going to cover that and the sides of the container with plastic so the water doesnt freeze to the snow and to preserve the shape of the slide. Next Im going to spray down all of the plastic with cooking spray to ensure the frozen mold slides out smoothly. Then I'll poor in the water. Next step is to put in the blue outdoor string party lights I have to give it a glowing iceberg effect. Lastly I have chisels and tools to smooth everything out. Oh, its -20 degreese (yes I said NEGATIVE) so it shouldnt take too long to freeze.
Margarita Waterfall:
I need some ideas for this. I prefer to work with ice since this party will be outside by a GIANT bonfire to help with teh Arctic temperatures we're having up here. Anyone have any suggestions?? Im thinking I can get a garden waterfall pump at Lowes or Home Depot to get things started.Last edited by ArcticZ06; 12-30-2008 at 06:33 PM.

sounds like you're hooking it up. I have no experience with that kind of stuff. My parties usually consist of some smoked food and tons of bacon.

have you ever made an ice luge like that before? ive never made one myself...
...but id think the water would melt the snow "form" before it freezes, and id be worried about the lights melting the luge

Probably the combination of electricity and water shorted out and he'll be posting Stevie-esque messages from the hospital soon.

i dohont knwo0 what ahpaened! it shocked me when it hit my lips!
just kidding!
Man the ice luge turned out awesome until the first drop of liquid hit it and then it split in half. I think it was because it was so cold again last night. Still in the negative 20s. Here is a pic of one half of the chunks and then snow packed up against it to make up for the broken part. the lights turned out really cool at least! lol I'll try making one again when its not so cold out.
sorry for the cell phone pics. I get clear out to my buddies house and as i take the first shot I get the "no memory card inserted in camera". FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!
Even better was the girl on girl experimentation that happened in the kitchen.
