    New Truck...Please Read!!

    Guys,

What do you think is the better buy:

2006 Toyota Tundra 2WD 4.7L Crew Cab Limited...loaded with the power sunroof, JBL Sound System, Power rear window, etc......$30,817 sticker minus the $4,000 rebate that Toyota is offering.

    Or

2007 Chevrolet Silverado 2WD 5.3L Crew Cab LT2...loaded with the Bose sound system,XM Satellite Radio, etc.......$32,184 sticker minus the $4,000 rebate that Chevy is offering.

Both are pretty much similarly equipped except for the sunroof, and power rear window in the Toyota.

This will be a daily driver.

    Help would be appreciated!!

    Thx

EDIT: The Chevy is an 07

Seeing the 07 Silverado's are redesigned, I would think in another month or so you could get a better price than that.

If it's about need and needing one now?.......(GOD please forgive me) I'd say the Toyota is gonne be the better choice.

Thx....they might discount the 06's elsewhere....but not down here where I live. These dealers think Chevys are made of GOLD! It's ridiculous. It takes an Act of Congress to get them to come off the sticker price.

this is true, however in the long run the toyota will need fewer parts replaced. My sis has a 97 Camry... 109k has never needed anything other than routine maintenance, still has the original brakes and they are still good!
i dislike the way most of their vehicles look... but they are damn good quality vehicles.

i have lost alot of respect for GM, and honestly they cant compete anymore. The japs have a higher quality product at a comparible price.

    Toyota FTW

*Edit... my gf has a 04 4Runner and i have driven it in the worst snowstorms, and on the icyest roads, and i must say that it is the best vehicle i have ever driven! the fit&finish on the interior is way above any Gm product will ever be, and it has plenty of balls to get the job done.

As the owner of a 2004 Nissan Titan, and having extensively test flogged every other truck offered, I'd say you'd be a d*mned fool not to get a Titan.

Get the Chevy, just haggle a little more on the price.

I've never seen anything last as long as a chevy truck, except maybe the old straight six Fords. But nothing in recent years.

You can do better than that on a Chevy. In april I picked up my 2006 Silverado 1500 Crew Cab, 3LT (Sunroof, XM, On Star, Leather, heated 10-way power seats, ect..), 6.0L (LQ9), Vortec Max Performance Pack, NHT, 2WD. For $30k and that was a truck I ordered back in Feb.

Don't get the Chevy yet. Wait another year if you're getting a chebby or GMC. First year new model always suck, lotsa glitches. The only thing I don't like about Toyota is power or lack of. Nissan is another choice but somehow they price the nissan like its all that.

You have to go with the one you like best. And also consider mileage.
    Durability.

What are you using it for?

If it will be hauling, go Chevy.

If it is just around town, I hat eto say Import.

and if you do not get a Titan, you are NOT a damn fool. You are free to choose as you please.

Jsut work the dealers for a better price on either.

    Goodluck.
