Never understood why someone buys anything bigger than a 3/4 ton with a gas motor.
Hell, even a 3/4 ton should have a diesel.

I would never buy a diesel, gutless low reving pigs, I hands down hate them. Not to mention their notorious injector changes and stupid downtime problems. Argue with me, but my father is partners in a local Chevy dealership and I can tell first hand about the countless storys all about the diesels and their $8000+ repair bills. If we didn't sell it, we won't work on it, mechanics hate them.

Well,$7500 more. Plus my needs dont require any more gvw than this truck provides. And I agree with last poster. Diesels are pigs and expensive to maintain.
Lastly, I'm sure the ones with the negative responses would nut in their shorts to own one.
Same people would ridicule their own mothers.

Gutless? doing a 4-wheel burnout is gutless? Low reving? Thats where the power-band is on a stock diesel. Modded out ones can rev just as high as a gasser. The injector problem was only on the LB7 duramax and has since been fixed(there was also a tsb issued so it got fixed for free), you should know that if your dad is a GM dealership partner. I have no doubt techs not trained in diesels hate them.
As for the OP I wasn't bashing on you for getting a gasser I was just curious as to why you didn't opt for the dmax. You should post of actual pics of your truck cause the generic gm pics I'm sure don't do it justice.

not tryin to join in on the arguement, but i gotta agree with diesel should be an option on 2500's and standard on a 3500.... that said Im not a fan of the duramax motor.... the allison trans is a beast, but IMHO Id like to see a cummins motor, allison trans, in a ford body....
