    The New Snake is a BEAST!

    Just got in the new Hot Rod mag with the cover story about the 13' GT500 armed with a Blown 5.8L making 650hp and 600tq. Of course this is at the flywheel but still very impressive for a production car. Wonder who will be the first to post a kill/death story Wont be me.

    it would do over 200mph and will be alot lighter as well.. I think ford will have the race between this and the zl1

    Read in motor trend it runs a 10.8 in the 1/4. That's getting up and going.

    If I can get one from a dig with traction I might have a chance. Most likely I'll be seeing quarter-panels or taillights though.

    Seems magazine test drivers usually drive slower than cars are capable of imo.

    They havent even built the car yet. No fucking chance it runs 10.8 in the quarter out of the box. They didnt even get near a 10.8 in the ZR1 corvette or the newest Dodge Vipers, both with similar power, more tire, and alot less weight.

    It all depends on how easy the car is too launch. The ZR1 and viper are both capable of 10s, even 9s with there stock power and weight since they both trap 130mph+ but they can't get enough traction to run those times.

    Real world drivers usually get better times than magazines with practice. The fastest c6 z06 time in a magazine was like 11.6 and the fast real owner time is 10.8 or 10.9 bone stock.

    And since the 1999 Cobra HP debacle, if Ford rates it at 650, it's likely close to that at the wheels (2011 GT rated at 412hp, dynoed at 395 at the wheels.)

    After the Cobra HP PR nightmare, John Colletti said that all SVT vehicles after that would make more than rated power.

    Even though Colletti is no longer at Ford, the memories of that crapfest linger and I'm sure that they don't want their Halo vehicle to follow that example.

    That all depends on the dyno you use, I have seen 390whp on a dynojet from the new GT and I have also seen a graph from a mustang dyno of the new GT that put it at 365whp which matches up with 412 crank hp number.

    Snake will have live axle vs the others IRS so better traction is a possibility.
