Also, I have a crappy way of recording the songs.

I am taking two old computer speakers, turning them towards each other, putting a microphone in between the speakers, turning on the music, and singing into the microphone.

That’s the only way I can record anything, because I don’t have any karaoke stuff, or anything like that.

I was told that I would sound 10 times better in a studio, compared to the way I am doing it.

I missed the first set so I have nothing to compare this to. I grew up listening to Elvis - so I can say that the sound is right, but at times it sounds forced or just has a flatness to it. As suggested before, voice lessons may be the ticket...
