new METALLICA... high quality live recording
(as per request in the head music thread by spaz)
this is the soundboard recording of Metallica playing Cyanide at Ozzfest.
this is definitely better then Load/Reload and St. Angry Shit....
the chugging bass line is the best part of the song!! something "And Justice for All" didnt have

So, when are they going to start doing songs about dentures?
Lemme write em up a good old song.
All you need is words like cyanide..
or
destruction
chaos
rampage
violence
monster
damage
Those are just off the top of my head.
Now, off the top of my head I will write them a new song.
Sing this with me...
Destruction...destruction...nurse this old man is bleeding we need suction
Lars...what's your damage? Here, put your teeth in eat your sammich (sandwich)
Chaos, you will betray us....Social security better fukkin pay us.
Rampage, on a rampage...can't even get it up at my age.
ok, done
Now, I am like everyone else in that I wish Racquel Welch never aged or that my dog I had as a child lived forever. Poor Kodiak, miss that dog.
Anyway, there are tons of young bands out there who aren't just doing this for the money...Lars...and these bands are at least trying to do something new. Metallica has run its course. I am so tired of my local rock station of playing my "morning Metallica" as they call it. FIND SOMETHING ELSE ALREADY

I love the music, but i'm just starting to think that Hetfields voice just isnt good anymore. The riff and the bass is kickass though

If they didn't have thier name I don't think anyone would pay attention
I love metallica, but I really think its time to retire before they become completly tragic.

I saw that song live at ozzfest, it was very cool. Their new stuff is great man, the solos are back and the long song lengths are back. St. Anger really pushed alot of people away from them, including me to a point, but i believe those people will come back and repent for their sins.
I have never seen a band of stage that sounded that perfect, they sounded so tight almost like it was on a cd. Theres a reason they are the biggest band on earth.
You cant be serious about Trivium being the new Metallica, now i havent heard much of them but i assume they are just "mall metal", like linkin park etc. Im not trying to be a prick, im just sayin, however i will check them out a little more.
On a side note about Ozzfest 08. Serj Tankian absolutely sucks so bad my words could not even describe it. He was dancing around on stage snapping his fingers like a fairy on every song with his stupid top hat and his stupid voice which ruins his songs. What a joke this guy is and the whole mainstream top 40 radio people think he is so crazy and metal. Screw that anti-American terrorist.
Also, Jonathan Davis from Korn was actually worse than Serj, there was nobody in the crowd feeling his solo stuff, he actually said something about it. Total garbage.
Kingdom of Sorrow, Devildriver, Sevendust, Drowning pool, and Ozzy were great.

Trivium is good...
The Crusade so far is there best CD, Shogun is sounding good too.
Trivium is getting there, but they have not wrote a break through CD yet
However, I would say MACHINEHEAD has succeeded Metallica.
check out:
Through the Ashes of Empires
The Blackening
Two amazing CD from Machinehad. Both CDs have have the musical metal formula that metallica is know for creating. Long songs, awesome lyrical themes, many changes (riiffs, rythem, tempo). Best thing about it, the dudes have a crap load of talent and dont depend on a WAH pedal to mask their guitar solos.

I saw a ton of those bands at SOTU and I have to say I do not like trivium since they copied metallicas style of singing(after st anger album) They were very original with their first album and ascendancy.
I quit going to shows because of the fact everyone is trying to copy everyone else. Not many bands that have a distinctive sound anymore.

I don't really care for that song. I am a hardcore Metallica fan and like MOST of there stuff. Hetfield seems to sing like crap nowadays. But oh well, spilled milk....

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
Regarding Metallica's new release: Based on what I've heard I'll buy it just to see what the rest of the album contains. The song in the link isn't bad but it's far from their best. At least it isn't the crappy mix they put out for St Anger.

I can't even listen to metal anymore. I turn on the metal station and it's all either pussy shit or some guy sounding like he is dry-heaving while singing. If i want some metal i'll just throw in a Slayer or Pantera cd. There are a couple decent bands out there, but to hear them on the radio you have to listen to 10 bad songs before they play a good one so i no longer bother turning it on.
On a side note, Sirius recently added a punk channel (Channel 29) and it kicks ass. 90% of the time i just leave it on that, the other 10% goes to Channel 24 (Grundge/90's Alt).
