A N/A 4.6L V8 making 380hp that necessitates an 8 speed tranny must have a torque curve about as wide as pencil lead. Otherwise, seems like a gimmick to me. Do we really need 8 speeds? Last I checked Toyota computers couldn't properly control the 5 speeds in the Avalon.

i'm still hung up on how an 8 speed is only giving it 25 mpg...i figured they would have gotten atlease 32-35 out of those higher gears

Although I agree that who the hell needs a car that can park itself, i also think that this kind of technology is what GM/Ford needs to start working on to help keep them in the game... also it is just a step in the direction of the automated cars that everyone says are comming within the next 50 years. awesome looking car inside and out.... not sure about the 8 speed tranny/ 0-60 in 5.6 seconds with all that tech in it is awesome.... Caddy has some catching up to do... but then so does BMW

i think 25 is pretty good considering how damn heavy it is.

And look at that damn engine compartment. You can't even check your oil level. lol Why have a V8 if you can't even see it? - its covered in friggen plastic.
