Pete Rose has never been allowed into the Hall, hopefully Bonds won't either.

Hank Aaron may not have been using steroids, but neither were the pitchers he was batting against....

all athletes have used performance enhancing substances at one point in their careers to become better. You can't hate on Bonds just because he's now the center of all the steroid abuse in sports. He's just being scrutinized because some people in major league baseball want to tarnish his reputation for breaking the home run record. There's tons of records that have been broken by athletes that have used performance enhancing substances of all kinds legal and illegal. Bonds has one of the best swings in baseball. Don't take that away from him. The steroids didn't hit the ball out of the park he did. Some players take steroids and never hit 10 home runs a season. Besides he's yet to fail a drug test and is still huge. Don't worry though A-Rod will break his record in the future and I bet they'll say he was juicin' too. By the way, Hank Aaron congatulated Bonds when he broke the record. What else can I say.

The difference is that the good athletes use legal ones.
Yes I can.
On that same note, nitrous doesn't propel cars past the quarter mile marker any faster, it's the car that does it itself.
Probably not much else, you've done enough apologizing for him already.

It is a shame the guy is such an asshole too.
GREAT ball player. GREAT!!
But all the steroid allegations and his attitude have ruined his legecy. Hard to say, but if he was more personable, might this have been celebrated by more fans??
We know Bonds isn't the only one, but he has made himself the face of it all. Two reasons for that...home run record and the fact that the guy is a dickhead.
Did I think Bonds was a great player before his head got big? Yes.
Do I think he is still a great player now? Mostly.
Would be still be playing without steroids? Probably not, and if he was, it would almost certainly not be at his current level of play.
Would he have the record without steroids? I certainly don't think so.
Steroids helped him hit the ball out of the park. They didn't help him actually hit the ball.

Black, Black- 2011 "Generic" Gasser
For his part, [equipment manager Mike] Murphy could document Bonds' physical changes via the changes in his uniform size. Since joining the Giants, Bonds had gone from a size 42 to a size 52 jersey; from size 10 ½ to size 13 cleats; and from a size 7 1/8 to size 7 ¼ cap, even though he had taken to shaving his head. The changes in his foot and head size were of special interest: medical experts said overuse of Human Growth Hormone could cause an adult's extremities to begin growing.
I'm 44 and the only thing growing on me is my waist.
