new homeowner -should I buy another Z28? or wait a year

In January this year, I bought my first house. Everything is pretty much new. I have no credit card debt.

I've always had a car, many Camaro's and an 06 GTO. I miss having a car.

I do have an 06 Silverado 2wd crew cab.

The Camaro I found is an 02, NBM, loaded, t-tops, leather, 6spd, all original, 48k mile car. It's exactly what I want. $10,500

Should I buy it? it's only $244 a month for 48mos. Total payment for both cars is $591 a month. My mortgage is less then most peoples rent.

yes, no, maybe...save your money you're a homeowner now.

and NO I won't give you the lady's number for the car.

    thanks,
    Jeff

i'd say go for it... better to regret something you have done than something you haven't, in my book...

Nothing beats financial stability though. Investing in the house has a better turn around, so for 10k you could redo kitchen or deck, finish basement, etc. Boost your resale value if you plan to move in the next 5 years... Or stash some into a 401k. I know it's not fun, but smart.

Of course, if you feel solid in those areas.... live it up! Buy it! Mod it! Race it!

well, hard to weigh in w/out knowing your finances, and the condition of your house... congrats on the new house, BTW! ..but i can tell you that a home can cost you a lot, if something breaks - for example last year i had to get a new furnace/ac, so there was like a sudden a $9000 cost... a million other things could spring up on you - roof leak, washer/dryer, refrigerator go "kaput", etc..

for now, everything is/was new when I bought it. 60yr old house that was re-habbed by the seller. No plans for upgrading it. It's good for now.

The home inspector said to put a fund away for a roof. (That's why I'd sell my 04 YZ250f)

perhaps I'm paranoid of getting what I want.

I moved into my new at the time house in Dec 2000. Ordered my TA in March 2001 and had it the next month. Go for it.

Go for it if you can. Want to know how my friend funded his last motorcycle purchase?

He had a credit score of 720 which is "ok" but could he higher for a 28 year old. His rate was something like 5.9% on $9,000 for 4 years. Well, instead of paying for the interest he paid for the bike on a credit card. He then took that amount and sent it over to another credit card that wouldnt charge interest for a year. He then paid the bike off in 10 months and avoided any interest and he says his insurance was cheaper because he didnt have a loan on the vehicle either.

Not sure if he is telling me fibs or if he was serious but he said it with a serious look on his face. lol

I'll give you some boring advice. If you have a nice chunk of savings to repair a "wtf" on the house go for it. If not save enough to to be comfortable if something happens like a roof or heater etc. But if you have that money get the car and don't look back, enjoy a little bit of life, it's short.

at that price if you regret it you can resell the camaro and not lose much at all.

Thursday is the day. Picking up the check from the credit union today.

I'm starting to get excited about it. Going to keep it stock except for window tint....for now.
