New here...intro

Hello every one, just a quick introduction…well hoping, on occasion been known to be a little wordy.

I come from a long list of racing. Most notable was my last race car, 87 Buick Grand National, hence the screen name. No offence to any one, it’s just become my calling card. At my best, my GN was likely putting down low 600 RWHP and if I had not blown the head gasket, damaging the cam sensor, it should have ran 10.60s, 10.80s, with a little tuning and more stall in the trany.

I currently own a 2000 S4, stock and what a PITA it is. It’s SOooo temperamental, hard to work on, maintenance problematic and last the $$$. Therefore, what brings me here when I find it at the price I want; I’ll be the proud owner of a 04 Black w/ red interior M6 GTO. This will mark the return to torque!!! I just feel that 8 MYs in the LS1 should be a great unstoppable platform.

So lastly, my other love is motorcycles. I’m VERY VERY thrilled to of found my dream job working for Buell Motorcycle Company, which for those that are unaware of the company, Buell is owned by Harley Davidson and takes a naked sportbike philosophy. I have a mechanical engineering degree and am a design engineer.

You seem like a cool guy...you'll fit right in. Have you ever considered a 05 goat instead of a 04? It comes with the LS2....not that a LS1 isn't a great motor, it's just the bigger displacement couldn't hurt

I hear you with the LS2, 0.3 L more and 55 HP. However, I'm looking to spead very low $20K. Plus, I'll take fooling the insurance company with a few mods.

I can give STi respect, most of all as rally cars. However, I like the torque. I was close to building a 4.5 L Al block from TA Performace for the GN. Trying to get 1000 RWHP.
