Question for everyone: Why do religious people get offended when someone speaks of atheism and they think its wrong. But its ok for them to speak of god and its the "right thing". A crazy thing happens tho, the atheist does not get offended?? thoughts?

If no atheists get offended, then what would you call those that spend so much time and energy trying to get God taken out of everything from our Courthouses, public places to off our money and everything else in between. unoffended but controlling?

Atheists purvey the idea that Atheism is the simple belief that our Lord does not exist. That couldn't be further from the truth. Atheism is the fundamental attack of everything Christianity stands for.

Agreed 100% and myslef being an athiest, do not get offended by religious belief or hearing someone talking about it nor do any of my friends that are atheists. It just makes me smile.

i'd call them constitutionalists who've read the declaration of independence and the constitution...specifically the bill of rights. separation of chuch and state and the right to the freedom to practice religion without persecution. that means no government interference in a person's religious preference and no govenrment telling anyone what religion they must practice.

Like my brother in-law. He belongs to Atheist groups on line and one of their sole missions is to get God out of everything.

I'd call them offended by any mention of God in any public place. They are not worried about the Constitution. They use the Constitution to take God out...

And, not to mention, the amount of time they spend belittling those that have faith. Seems to me that if they were not offended by them, they would ignore them.

The OP wanted thoughts on his claim that atheists are not offended by religion. I think it's obvious that many are
