Talking New Daily Driver advice needed

Hey guys i'm gonna need a new daily driver soon, thinking of selling the Monte Carlo ss(turning into a money pit) adding a little cash and getting something new.

I'm looking for a turbo 4 or strong six cliynder car(strong perormance) with razor sharp handling. I also think it's time for a import maybe, not looking for ford or chevy, every car i have ever owned has been gm or ford it's time for a change. I'm open to two seaters also. Budget is 30K. Car can be used also with low miles and warranty.

SO far I'm interested in the following:

    Fiat Abarth
    John Cooper works MINI COOPER
    Nissan 370Z
    Subaru Wrx STI

What else would you guys suggest I check out?

...Hyundai has some pretty cool looking offerings... I've seen these on the highway driving to/fro work, ...they look good!

Fiat Abarth Just Say NO to a Fiat. Remember the scary stories about the German cars? Take those and add Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street for Italian cars.
John Cooper works MINI COOPER Revisit the thread on German cars
Nissan 370Z Not bad, but not a personal favorite
Subaru Wrx STI The best of this list. I love my turbo Subaru. I guess it must be my inner Lesbian
Genesis Coupe Nice ride, but the rear seats are a very poor joke. You also have a 2 seater on your list so that may not be a concern

I know you said you weren't interested in a Ford, but you might want to take a look at this which is coming soon and looks to be worth the wait

The new Focus RS. 350HP, AWD, and a 6 speed manual. This will make Subaru up their game with the STI.

Also might want to take a look at the new 2016 Miata.

Focus RS is out of his budget. But don't NOT get an American car just because. Have you seen the performance specs on the new V6 Camaro? It's a good match for an LS1 car. The new ecoboost Mustangs are going to be fun cars as well.

30k would also get you a mint low mileage C5 ZO6. Which is probably the most fun you can have new or used for 25 grand.

    Sadly now demodded :(

A guy here at work purchased a new Miata that's the spittin image of the one in the picture. He loves the way it handles.

He frowned when I said it looked like a good candidate for an LS swap...

Evos aren't made anymore and parts/oils get pretty expensive...I'd probably stay away from one of those. Just my 2 cents.

Performance wise the EVO has always killed the STI. Reliability and DD wise the STI usually wins.

It would be a shame to not check out the Focus ST. As a DD, it beats every car on your list (performance AND MPGs plus better reliability), AND you can have it brand new out-the-door (full warranty!) well under your budget which cannot be said for the other cars on the list.

Brand new WRX is a good bang for buck vehicle. They are bigger than they used to be. Don't use the crappy 5mts anymore. Make 270hp, AWD and can be had for 26k. Compared to a brand new STI's 38k+ price.
