its the same motor in the new cts and it 296hp, and its the same family of motors that have been in gm cars since 2004 and from what I've found digging around the old internet its produced in North America and Australia.

who cares if it's a good engine. That's like saying that the duramax diesel is a POS because it was designed by Isuzu.

thats why its a base car, all the posers that just want a camaro will buy the v6 model just like all the v6 stangs that are EVERYWHERE, from what I understand the 2 v8 options will be a A6 with just under 400hp and a M6 with about 420hp, so let the 16 year old girls get the v6 model and bolster the sales figures while the real camaro fans buy the v8 modles and continue to beat ricers asses

its not really a muscle car is a base car, just like the orig. strait 6 camaros were in the 60's, if you wanted a v8 you had to order one that way

good point, I don't consider any v6 cars to be muscle cars in any way. I just think, "oh, a v6, sucks that they don't have the v8". unless it's a grand national, then I'm like, "sweet, a grand national." turbo v6's can be cool.

still, there's no replacement for displacement (said on this site once every 0.0032 seconds )....what do you have done to your v6? And what is this "lts1" you speak of...some kind of imbreeding? Did the LS1 finally get tired of all the nagging and just stick it in the LT1's tailpipe?
