New Bond Movie Cancelled
Kinda a bummer

While Quantum Of Solace sucked, Casino Royale was a great flick.
I had high hopes for the 3rd one with Craig as Bond.
So now we'll probably get yet another Twilight movie instead.
Maybe another studio will pick it up.

Ya ya on both counts, Casino Royale was a great reboot, Quantum of Solace eh not so much.
OK the article says that the 22 films have made 1.6 billion. These 2 films alone account for almost 1.2 billion of that. So the other 20 films have made a combined 400 million bucks. Sheez. Even considering the relative value of the dollar back in the 60s that doesn't sound like much.
But anyhoo, I bet this bankrupt studio will sell the rights for a big film like this. Somebody will scoop it up and make it...

I read about this a while ago, they are having money issues and wont be making it. I didnt like either of the last 2 movies, they both kinda sucked.

A spoof in which that happens might be worth seeing. I outgrew James Bond movies a long time ago.

Just delayed until someone acquires the rights to it I am sure. Bond movies will go on.
Agreed on Casino Royale being stellar and Solace being mediocre at best.

Yeah, I agree that the series will continue, so kind of overblown news. It probably should end, though.

I thought the bond film was canceled too, until i read an article that this news of it being canceled should be taken with a grain of salt, being that its from the tabloids. It's the same kind of tabloids saying elvis is still alive. So im gonna believe that its still up in the air. I think within in another 6 months they'll have their act together. I only worry about craig still being bond, and schedules working out. I'm growing to like him as bond

a site that specializes in shooting down false media rumours - got a quote from a source close to Craig on the current "Bond axed" controversy. They said, "The situation remains exactly the same as for the last many months. The filmmakers formally announced then that the current production of Bond 23 was being postponed due to the issues relating to the sale of MGM. Nothing has changed and production is only postponed, not canceled.

The Internet was abuzz today with reports that MGM had put the brakes on any further development of the next James Bond movie, officially known as “Bond 23", reports THR.
The only problem was that it was old news.
In April, Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli of EON Prods., producer of the long-running franchise, announced they were suspending development of the film because of the financial difficulties of the film’s distributor, MGM, which still have not been resolved.
“We do not know when development will resume and do not have a date for the release,” they said at the time.
The current wave of stories, including a report in London’s Daily Mail and a Harry Knowles commentary on AintItCool.com, which were both published July 2, treated the halt on development as if it were breaking news, triggering a wave of new Bond “on ice” headlines that quickly multiplied across the web.
But nothing has changed, according to insiders familiar with the situation.
Work on the next Bond was suspended in April, and that remains the case.
well thank god for that
