    Need your help deciding

Ok after talking to my main garage and doing research on specs and stuff I came down to building my car 3 different ways.
I will either have a nicely built all motor 355 or twin turbo my car.
If I go all motor it will be fully rebuilt and bored out to a 355, custom cam, port and polished intake manifold and heads with the valve job, forged flattop pistons, ect. ect. ect. and a tune and it would come out to around 3,500 for everything.
My other choice is to also kinda rebuild my motor, put in new pistons, and a cam, also a garrett twin turbo kit. This would come out to be 4,500 for everything.
What are the pros and cons for either build? What would you guys do? Also how would the turbo kit effect gas mileage? I heard that it would boost my gas mileage and I also heard it can kill it. I always thought it would help.
Or I might just put in the forged pistons and spray the piss out of the car. If I do spray I want it setup the right way and it would still come out to around 3,500 cause I will rebuild the motor as well.
Currently car has Pace setter LTs, x pipe dumped before axel, Sub frame connecters, TA girdle, lower control arms, panhard bar on ZR1 rims with 275/40/17 kumhos.

TT that bitch. That extra 23% money will be getting you alot more then an extra 23% power. That, and then your LT1 will be able to eat small children and puppies whole.... as an appetizer for main course of mustangs.

consider the fact that if you put a power adder on that motor, you will get addicted to boost and start upping the boost and eventually popping the motor or getting blow by, and needing a rebuild anyways. I say build the h/c/i 355 maybe even put a stroker crank in it, and build it with some low compression pistons. then save your money for a power adder at a later date and have the piece of mind of knowing that you have a motor that can take the boost.

    yes for a f-body
    and no, not over stock.

As for the turbo-vs S/C, the only kits I know of are centerfugal superchargers, which are what I like to call, "turbos on a stick". They are not tunable for your specific requirements, and universally drag more on the motor vs a turbo due to the extra friction that drives them.

Roots(postitive displacemeant S/Cs, or twin screw designs like whipples) are a different ballpark alltogether. They provide a significantly different powerband improvement then turbos or turbos on a stick... one that is much more to the liking of the muscle-car torque monster crowd. They provide a linear amount of boost per RPM that is easily tunable via the pulleys, and while waste more power to heat production, generally provide a much more FUN powerband. (getting 150 bonus hp by 3000rpm is more entertaining then the same kicking in at 6k in my opinion)

The problem with those style of superchargers? Good fucking luck fitting one of those on an f-bod... they generally replace the intake mani, and are larger then them, requiring a hood that can clear them, and in most cases in our cars chopping the firewall.

So no, S/Cs are more of a pain in the ass then a turbo setup, or are easier but suck more. So not a whole lot of people recommend them. My opinion... FUCK turbo-on-a-sticks, they are worthless compared to a TT setup... but if you have the money/skill/determination get a positive displacement charger over either of them... the powerband is so addiciting its not even funny. Old school "blowers" are positive displacement chargers, so figure that out for yourself.

If you're worried about gas mileage, why the hell do you want to mod your car? If you want to do this sort of work to your car, you shouldn't be worried about that. If you are, get a beater before you start.

Im starting to lean out towards the twin bitches.
But now I found another problem. I can get a great deal on brand name turbo kits
(around 3 grand for the twin garretts or a single rear mounted sts turbo)
but I also found on ebay this for like 1500.
Is there much difference between the brand name ones or the T3/T4 ebay ones?

Probably just quality, reliability, durability and customer service are just a few of the differences between name brand and ebay.
