need some help with robbery

hey guys my gf's (yes i have a gf thats y i havent been around here to stir anything up... i know yall have missed me) house just got broken into... they stole some dvd and so forth, but to get to the point they stole her laptop... i told her to call dell and get all the information she could from them including the serial number and the windows reg code...

i know that they can track you while your active on the net with a windows reg code, but will they just for a stolen comp... i mean i know they could tell you the next time that comp logs the net and exactly where it is... can she just consider her stuff gone or will they be able to track it down if they browse the net?

Her stuff is gone bro, no one outside of the people that know her are going to go through any trouble to track her stuff. Does she have renters insurance? If she does then put a claim in...

You'd have to have a net thrown to catch a particular login and winreg. Damn near impossible....tell your gf to change the locks on her house.
