Need some advice
Not getting any help in the tech section, so here is the deal. I bought a vortec 350 out of a 99 tahoe and I plan on using it in my 75 camaro. Engine has no heads or intake. I'm buying a set of ls1 heads soon and plannin building the engine to about 450 horses. I want to go carburatted and not use a computer if possible. I have a $4,000 budget. What are my options?

MSD makes a stand alone unit for the crank trigger & coil packs, then a victor JR intake.

1999 tahoe-> small block 350 vortec. The name vortec was even out before '96 on 4.3 v6 trucks..

He does have a nice one piece seal roller cam block. Not really worth building instead of just popping in an ls for the money

Vortec heads.
I built a 383 using a 96 block, has a roller cam and vortec heads, puts down right at 400hp.
The LS would be a better bang for your buck, but if you have the short block no reason not to build it.
I think hotrod built a 5.3L with a turbo that made damn near 600hp for under 4k in their last issue, so that's something to think about.
