Need quick answer about rear diff and speedo
I'm going to have my 4.10's installed after the clutch gets done tomorrow, and I bought a hypertech programmer so I could calibrate the speedo and odometer to correct for the difference from the 3.42's (1996 lt1 m6) but the mechanic is convinced that they need to order a new speed sensor from chevy or the speedo will be be off. i told him i had a hypertech and it advertises that it can change the speedo/odo through the obd2 but he's saying that a 1996 will still have a mechnical and not digital sensor and doesnt think it will work. i was reading through the manual from hypertech and it says "This choice will recalibrate your speedometer and odometer readings and part-throttle shifting for automatic tramsmission for the new gear." now, does that sentace mean this will only work on autos, or is that refering to only the part throttle shifting (which obviously doesnt apply to my m6).

Back when I first started modifying my 1994 I had a Hypertech power Programmer. It properly calibrated gear and tire size changes. I got rid of it when I quantified the car was faster with the standard tuning than with the hypertech tuning however... I would wager your tuner will accomodate your needs.
