Need a laptop for school.
Something in the $800-$1000 range, not really worried about brand name just need something with good power and a large HD.
Currently these are the two I'm looking at from newegg.

Go cheap. The average laptop is stolen or broken within 17 months ( Insurance company stats)....

depdending on how labor intensive your courses are: consider a duo core over a single core laptop as they are way faster with two processors. I don't know your major; but i suggest that for anyone doing major graphics work.
