Need Ideas - Entry Level Careers
Well I've been turning a wrench for a paycheck for a couple years now and it is NOT my idea of a "career" I want to keep. I'm looking for an entry level job that would lead to a career. I'm going to school right now so maybe a place that would include tuition reimbursement (though, it is definitely not a requirement). I'd love to be in a company that has higher level positions for your achieved degree's so that when I get my associates I achieve a higher position, with my bachelors an even higher position. I basically want to be able to grow in the company and not bounce in between jobs.
Any ideas?

Here is my "skills" area on my resume...
I wouldn't consider myself much of a "professional" in any of the computer skills, I have mainly just dabbled in or taken High School courses.

Maybe start at an IT help desk and work from there. Go to a community college and take some formal IT related classes. Database or networking, I'd say.
Working a technical help desk gets you exposure, a chance to use your people skills, and an opportunity to learn whatever business your employer is in.
As an IT person, I'm more interested in aptitude and problem solving skills than knowledge in any particular technology. Technology can be learned. Aptitude can't. You need to demonstrate your willingness to learn and deal with the shit tasks someone like me is going to give you.

I've always figured networking would be right up my alley being the little computer nerd I am. Unfortunately I have already booked up and payed for my classes this semester and doubt adding another class would be too smart.
Most of the jobs I've been finding online (Perot, Cisco, AllianceData, Epsillion) require a Bachelors even for the "Entry Level" positions. I completely intend on getting my Bachelors degree but I am fresh in college and haven't even gotten my Associates yet.

Go into the oil business, sucks hard at first but once you get some pull in the business you could take off. Long days and countless days on, but once you see that huge paycheck because of all the overtime you worked you will keep working because you know in your brain "MOD MONEY!"

heh... well... so much for this thread I guess..
FantaZGuy28 - I'm lookin' more in the way of a desk job, I get too dirty as a mechanic already. I heard there was a 500k a year button pusher job but I missed out.
Thanks for the insight kmassner, I reckon my best option is to keep going to school and be a continue to f**k my hands and back up 'till I get that degree.
