Need help deciding which bike to get
Here's the deal, my wife says I can trade in my CBR 1000 for a Harley, so I will slow down and get no more tickets
Anyway, not sure which one to get. I am 6' 3", ~210 lbs and they all seemed small to me. I tried the Dyna wide glide and the Fat Bob today and was leaning towards the fat bob, but am still going to test out the Black Line and Dyan Super Glide next weekend. Not in a huge rush to get a bike, but figured I'd ask some opinions. And if you recently bought one, how much off sticker price were you able to get?

V-rod ftw........
The Night Rod Special has drag bars and forward controls. I am 6'1" and the Muscle & Night Rod Special fit me the best. Any others will feel small to you as well and you are considerably taller than me.

I'm 6'1" 260lbs and I ride a Springer Softail (think softail standard (now obsolete) with a springer front end). Basically, imagine a wideglide with softail suspension. Anyways, My bike has the extended forward controls on it, and it fits me very well. I can imagine that it'd fit you as well, also. Unless you're all legs and no torso, then i can imagine it'd cramp your legs. Not entirely sure how a 6'3" guy rode a damn rocket anyway There are plenty of options for the taller guys, you just have to do some research. The extended forward control kit (i believe) pushes standard forward controls out another 3".

Keep the CBR and slow down. It's not the bike's fault you do triple digits. Yes, you'd be less tempted to speed on a dresser, but Harley's still have what it takes to break the law.

True....it just takes a long time, down hill, and a good tail wind to do so...haha j/k of course.
A sport bike is tough NOT to speed on. They like going fast and his bike will run 80 mph + in 1st gear. You go through two upshifts and you are WELL in to triple digits.
Oh, Zach......the guy who owned my TL1000S was 6'3" and 300 lbs....lol

I was thinking Road King - I have a buddy similar size as you, rides a Road King.
I kept my sportbike, a 2000 Kawasaki ZX9r, that I purchased new way back in 2001, such an adrenaline rush!!
Back in 2005 I purchased a Softail Standard and installed a Performance Machine Phatail kit on it, PM wheels, PM rotors & calipers
ehh, heres a picture of both
I think you're going to be disappointed with any Harley that you decide to get, you won't get the adrenaline rush out of it like a sportbike. I always say that if I can only have ONE bike then its going to be a sportbike. . . . with that said, my Harley is ok to putt putt around with, but If it was my only bike, I'd be selling it to get a new ZX10r.

Nice looking bikes man.
Your ZX9R is in the mid-low 10s and the new V-Rods are in the low/mid 11s. So yes, 1 second behind but they V-rod engine is pretty rev happy for a V-twin, liquid cooled, FI, and its smooth. They handle well (as well as a cruiser can really) and are pretty reliable. I had a TL100S and a ZX11 and an old school ZX10R (Ninja 1000r) and I miss sport bikes a lot. Kawi green is a great color!

Limenine....how tall are you? Your bike looks huge compared to you or perhaps its just the way the picture was taking.

If you're getting tickets on a sport bike you're not going fast enough.

Is a custom bike build out of the question?

I was actually thinking of building my own bike, but I have too many projects. I have the typical hunny do list for the house, a 78 camaro restoration, my 93 camaro is needing some attention, and a 78 Jeep CJ that is in pieces (got it from a friend for free so I couldnt pass it up), and I need to build a new garage. As for selling the cbr, book on her is 7300. I was asking 7000, but know I won't get that so if you are serious make me an offer.
As for tickets, so far the only one I got was with a group and we got boxed in by 6 cops. The other times I have been lucky enough to outrun the radio. I would love to keep my CBR and get a cruiser but it all depends on what I end up having to spend for the cruiser. I have been on nearly 10 different cruisers and they all seem kinda small.

I'm 5'8" 160lbs. My 9 fits me perfectly. And my Phatail fits me well too.
