I look at tats like this. You get what you can live with for the rest of your life. I don't care what you get cause its not on me. You are the one that has to live with the ink that you get. I would also say that you should get something that means something to you.
Just me 2 cents.

how about you get something that matters to you... something that will make it worth it instead of getting some dumb ass tatoo of a dragon and a symbol in a different language that no one cares about...

yeah guys, i figured id get responses like that, but i fingered somebody might have a lil different idea. my dad was a cop and passed away back in 2004 and his badge number was 137. well 13 and 7 are odd numbers but alot of peeps say they are "lucky". i was thinkin 13 on the back of my left calf and 7 on the right calf with some clovers or guns or something kinda like that. you know?

yeah. forget the tat and get some car parts until you know what you want.. you don't want that for you. you just want it to show off for someone else if you don't know what you want.
don't be a poser be happy with who you are.

All I can say is don't get your kids, wife's, girlfriends name tattooed on you. Kids you will have to get another if you have more, wife/girlfriend-could get divorced and then your stuck with it.

I think the badge number thing is a good idea to honor your Dad.
The design and location is just a formality. So, I say, go with your first instincts and what YOU want to do. If you aren't the type of guy that foresees getting a whole bunch of tattoos in your life, your shoulder is always a good place. Also, if it was me, I'd definitely keep the "137" all as one number and not separate it between your calves.....but, that's just my thought on it.
And as far as the "kid's name" thing - I personally wouldn't mind getting my kid's name tattooed on me one bit, no matter how many kids I had. But, wives/gf's....hell no!
